Puppy Class Graduation

I graduated, I graduated!!!! I'm happy happy, I got my graduation certificate.



We had lots of play play time, and we played lots of game games today. Mummy's camera battery was dead dead before we even got to class, so no pictures. (mum: I think I need new rechargeable batteries..)

We did "LEAVE IT", one pup at a time. I had to walk walk past a roll of toilet paper, a bag of cat treats, and a peanut butter filled KONG. Anytime I show show interest in those, mummy say say "LEAVE IT" and I look at mummy and got a treat treat. I didn't like the KONG at all because it's got peanut butter in it. No peanut butter for Mr. Jaffa... I don't like like.

After that we had Puppy Come Races. Our mummy's stay-tayed at one end of the room and we stay-tayed at the other end of the room with the helpers. Then when Lisa say say "GO" mummy's call call us to "COME", and see who went to his/her mummy first. I ran fast fast at first, but then I saw Hector and Darcy beside me, so I slow slowed down to see see them. (mum: he looked like he was sightseeing.) Then I saw Darcy, and Hector went to my mummy, Gerogia went to Zoe's mummy, and Zoe went to Georgia's mummy, I said ok ok, I'll go to Darcy's mummy. (mum: OMG.. it was HILARIOUS!!!!) We didn't go to right mummy's so we had to race race again to get a winner. So we ran ran again, and I went to Hector's mummy this time because Hector and Darcy still went to mummy. Only Georgia and Zoe went to right mummy's, and Zoe was faster, so she won!!

Just before our graduation ceremony, we each show show tricks that we know. I only know paw paw and wave wave...... Gracie did roll-over and Turbo did "go get your ball".

Graduation time!! We each had to go go to a platform and "SIT" to receive our graduation certificates. Along with the certificate, I got my photo album from the Scavenger Hunt, a bag of yum yum from Fetch (mum: dehydrated liver treats), and an orangy ball ball from Fetch too.



The photo album had all the pictures of me me from my scavenger hunt. The first page of the album has business cards of our trainers; one of Lisa's Dog Dayz Daycare, and the other one of Joan's training center.



I didn't go go to all the places I was supposed to go for the Scavenger Hunt because mummy didn't have time to go to N. Van that often. But but mummy did take me to other places and I got got bonus points. These are all my bonus points:

Hopefully I am a good good socialized pup now. Mummy say say I might start good good boy class soon (mum: basic obedience class), but she has to check her work work schedule....

Puppy Class 5 - Valentines Day (2/14/07 - Wednesday)

Today was the second to last class of my Puppy Socialization Class. We had a fun fun class.

Me say hi hi to Lisa. I like to bite bite now when I say hi hi. Mummy say it's no good... but I can't help it.. my teeth say say I gotta chew chew!!


I watch watch first....


I picked Turbo (Yellow Lab) and Noel (beagle X PRT or JRT) to play play.


Remember in my 1st and 2nd puppy classes, I wasn't sure about Noel because she play played rambunctious. Now that I'm bigger than her, I say ok ok BRING IT ON!!

We had a lot of play play time today. I had to pay pay attention to mummy before mummy tells me to "GO PLAY". So I watch watch mummy.


Joan said we had to practice our "COME" with mummy's and daddy's while we play play. (mum: periodically, we were told to call our pups or lure them to us, give them a treat, then release them to "go play" again.)

If we got too rough or rowdy, we have to go for a time out to calm down, like this,


(Sunshade: see those red marks on mum's arm? Those are STINKY's bite marks!!!!)

Sometimes when the play gets too rough, I go see see peeple. I went to see Turbo's dad!!

Darcy and Zoe are both bigger and they play rougher.

Joan and Lisa say say we were playing a game. WOOHOO!! It's called musical chairs. Everything the music stopped, we had to find a mat and sit sit on it. The last doggie without the mat is out out of the game.

Now the REAL thing!!

You see Darcy (chocolate Lab X) and Turbo (yellow Lab) in the end both try try to get the mat. The rule of the game is that the dog has to be SITTING. Even tho Darcy got the mat first, she didn't sit sit, so Turbo came over to try to sit sit on the mat. All the peeple laugh laugh a lot.

Oh .. um... I keep hearing peeple call call my friend Shorty a wiener dog. I say say he must be yummy yummy, so I try try to see if he was yummy. He was no no...

This was part two of musical chairs, the camera battery die died.

Noel won it!! Well deserved because she always sit sit so fast!!

I had so much fun fun today!! Before we left, mummy gave Lisa my disposable camera for the Scavenger Hunt, and Lisa gave mummy a toy in return. Mummy say say the toy was for me me!!

When we got home, mummy's friend gave Sunshade and me me our Valentine's Day treats!! Sunshade got a wheat free cake, and I got yummy cookies with icing.


Sunshade got to eat hers first because she's the boss, I said ok ok. Mummy said I had to eat mine in the crate, I said ok ok, I'll go in the crate on my own.

I made sure there no no chocolates because they are bad bad for me.


Sunshade look looked at me while I eat eat. I think she wanted some and I would have let her eat some, but Sunshade didn't come come to take it. Mummy also say say my cookies have wheat wheat in them, and wheat is bad bad for Sunshade. Sorry Sunshade, I love you too much to give you something that's bad bad for you.....

(Sunshade: please, do not declare your love for me so publicly, I'm getting goosebumps...)


(mum: Sunshade will not go after another dog's food if it's already in the possession of the dog. Anytime before that.... WATCH OUT!!)

It was so yummy yummy!!


It was gone gone fast....


I want more more, and I wave wave and give paw paw!!


But mummy said no no... enough for a wittle guy.... I'm not wittle anymore you know, I'm big big, I eat more than Sunshade!!

Then mummy said I had to wear this on my head head because it's Valentine's Day. I said ok ok.


Sunshade say say I look pretty pretty. She told me to wear it outside like that, I think I'm going to listen listen, because Sunshade knows everything!!

(Sunshade: *smirks*...)

Puppy Class Four

Today was my fourth class. I don't have a lot a lot of pictures because we learn learned lots lots. Mummy had no hand for camera.

We did the mini agility course again, I love love the tunnel. See me??


I try to bite bite the the tunnel from the inside.

I still didn't like the A-frame and the teeter totter. Mummy say it's ok ok. (mum: I'm trying to build up his confidence so I don't want to force him to do anything he's not ready doing.)

We learn learned how to shake a paw, and I learn learned that one fast. I was giving mummy "PAW" on command in under 10 mins.

Then we learn learned to "LEAVE IT", and "COME".

This video was taken on Valentines day. Mummy was trying to get me to bite bite the slipper because that's what I love to do, but I knew it was a trick trick. So I didn't bite bite. Mummy also tried to get me to go away so she could call me to come come, but I said no way, you got the treat treats.

(mum: Jaffa's teeth are still very sharp and I'm not sure if you've noticed, he was taking the treats along with my hand.



We've been taught in class that if a pup/dog is not taking treats gently, you do the following exercise until they've learned to be patient and take treats gently.

• You will see me holding a treat in my fist and showing Jaffa my fist.

• He's going to take a bite at my fist, nudge it, basically trying to get the treat.

• I wait until he makes a clear break from my fist

• As soon as he makes a clear break from my fist, I'm going to give him the command "GENTLE" and open my hand to offer him the treat which will be in the palm of my hand. (He associates the GENTLE command with not nudging or biting at the hand)

This works not just with pups, but with any dog who has a tendency to snatch treats often taking a finger or two.)

Puppy Class 3

I went to school to learn learn again. I had so so so much fun fun today.

(mum: Yes you did.... I had a wild kid today. Actually, I should say I had a "normal" Airedale pup today. The fun for me starts now I guess LOL. I took his glued ears off a couple days ago, and he's been very spunky ever since. He had glue stuck to the flaps of his ears, so I clipped the hair off his ears. He looked quite odd with the mohawk on his head and fluff everywhere, so this afternoon, I stripped all his puppy fluff off. I wanted to see how he handled stripping, and well, he did excellent as I had expected. Tail up, no struggle, no wiggling, stood like a champ, show no signs of discomfort.)

Me me when my ears first came off.


They are no no even, so mummy said we wait wait a week for meat meat to relax (Sunshade: meat meat = muscle... *faints*), and maybe they need need to be re-glued. Mummy wants my ears to look look like Sunshade's because we are going to look alike like.


(Sunshade: Oh please...NOOOOOOO!)

Peeple from my puppy class say say I'm cute and handsome, and I say yes yes I know I know!

(Sunshade: sheesh, last week you would've said "thank you thank you". Your head is certainly growing)


We learn learn "go to your bed". Everytime mummy say say "Jaffa, go to your bed", I had to go go onto this mat.


I have a bed bed at home (Sunshade: MY X-mas pressie...) and I play play and take take chewies there, but I don't go on it when mummy tells me to. Mummy say say we have to work work on it.

We didn't get to play play off-leash today because teachers want us to meet meet big and small dogs (mum: not separating the groups like last week). I want want to play play (Sunshade: play play = chew chew) with peeple first. I watch watch other pups. Then I want to play play, so I went play play.

Me me and Georgia, she is a Mini Labradoodle (miniature poodle X Lab) and she's 14 weeks old.

Me me bite bite Turbo's face. Turbo is 4 months old.


Checking Cheater out. Cheater is 5 months old, he is funny funny. He likes to fart fart in class, and he do do that every class. Lisa spray spray the room with yucky smelling stuff (mum: air freshener)


This is Walter, he is 4 months old, and he is a Yorkie X Poodle.

My good friend "Shorty" wasn't here today, so I find find a new good friend. Her name is Lexy, and she is a 14 week old butterfly. (Mum: Pappillon (sp?))





We learn learn how to walk walk nicely on leash. (Sunshade: did you pay *ANY* attention???)

Lisa used me to demonstrate, but I was bad bad. I didn't want her food food, and I look look everywhere except at Lisa.

(Sunshade: geez... does that mean you will still keep biting me as we walk?)



Then I think think for a little bit, and then "hug hug" Lisa's leg. (Sunshade: *ahem* "hump hump")

(mum: yes.. in front of everyone. Lisa did say right away it was a dominance behaviour and not to make a big deal about it, simply walk away or if he is persistent, give him a time out in the crate.)

I met peeple pups too. This is Georgia's peeple sister. She really really like like me. She boo boo her ankle skiing so she had to use use those big silver shiny things. I was brave brave, I wasn't scared.


Then I saw Darcy's peeple sister eating her toe toe (Sunshade: sucking her finger), so I asked her if I can try try too.
